She teaches strategies for practice in everyday life at home, school, kinder, childcare,<br>playgrounds, pools and other outdoor spaces!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cate has over 25 years\u2019 experience working in Children\u2019s hospitals in Melbourne and London,<br>managing infants and children with cerebral palsy, stroke, acquired brain injury, orthopaedic and<br>musculoskeletal conditions, developmental delay and those recovering from injury and surgery.<br>She holds specialist skills in infant assessment, neurology and rehabilitation. Cate is grateful to have<br>a broad network of professional connections among Australian therapists and medical specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She values working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team for the optimal care and<br>management of her clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of Wattle Kids Physio, Cate enjoys a busy life with her husband, three kids and dog Alfie.<br>She loves being outdoors, music, sport and growing vegies in her garden!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clinical Experience, Concurrent Roles and Qualifications:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Cate held the position of Senior Clinician Physiotherapist with the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation<br>Service (VPRS) at Monash Children\u2019s Hospital from 2007 to 2020. Prior to this she worked in general<br>paediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Units in London and Melbourne. Cate\u2019s early career<br>experience was in regional Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While working with the VPRS, Cate held concurrent Clinical Research Assessor roles with the Preterm<br>Brain Outcomes (PREBO) study and Pain In Dyskinesia study. She was a key physiotherapist<br>contributor to the Subacute Rehabilitation of Childhood Stroke Clinical Guideline, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cate works as a Tutor with Monash University, teaching Postgraduate and Masters of Paediatric<br>Physiotherapy courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cate is a Victorian Trainer of the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE) and member<br>of the Australian HINE Trainers Collaborative. The HINE is used to identify children at risk of cerebral<br>palsy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is an Advanced Assessor in Prechtl\u2019s General Movements Assessment and is trained in the<br>BabyOSCAR (Observational Selective Control AppRaisal) tool, both also used to identify children at<br>risk of cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cate enjoys supporting and mentoring physiotherapy colleagues in their paediatric, neurological,<br>and rehabilitation speciality skills development, both here in Australia and overseas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow
